For its central product information management system (PIM), DT-Diesel Technic AG decided on prodexa Cloud (formerly jCatalog). By introducing a modern PIM system, DT-Diesel Technic AG is optimally serving the globally increasing demand for spare parts from the quality “DT” brand for utility vehicles from the providers Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, DAF and MAN. In addition, DT-Diesel Technic AG should be able to use a new additional distribution channel using the TecDoc format in future.
An interface to the Microsoft Navision ERP system aims to ensure that all product information only needs to be entered once and superfluous data storage is avoided. Spare parts with increasing technical sophistication require smart communication of product specifications, not only internally but also externally with customers. In future, new product data for sales documents will be produced from the central product information management system.
The international orientation of DT-Diesel Technic AG and the successful development of new sales regions make it necessary to provide sales documents in various local languages. These documents, along with catalogue excerpts oriented at specific target groups with information tailored for the individual customer, can be automatically generated and digitally printed from the product information management system. A group-wide work flow system for sales documents will also be established for this purpose. This challenging project began in November 2005 and successful implementation was planned for July 2006.
DT’s main area of activity is the production and distribution of spare parts for utility vehicles under the well-known brand “DT”, ideal for trucks and buses from the brands Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, DAF and MAN. With a full-range portfolio of more than 20,000 different spare parts, of which the majority are available directly from the warehouse, DT-Diesel Technic AG is one of the leading full-service providers in the global automotive aftermarket for utility vehicles. The quality management system introduced in 1996 is certified in accordance with the currently applicable standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
